TUFC Trees of Tennessee Available for Order!

By Jeff Harvey
The Tennessee Urban Forestry Council has published an excellent coffee table book called The Trees of Tennessee. Gene Hyde, the co-founder of the forestry council and writer of the introduction, will be one of our guests at the SE Region Meeting on Friday night, Sept. 18, and will be doing a book signing. The book can be ordered directly from TUFC for the regular price of $40 or can be pre-ordered for pick-up at the Southeast Region Meeting on Friday for a discounted price of $35. The SE Region will also benefit from pre-orders if we have at least 20 orders for the book.
The book has fabulous pictures of notable trees that are easily accessible, across the state of Tennessee. There are also many interested facts about each tree. You’ll want to read about the 500 year old beech that Daniel Boone and his traveling companions carved their initials in, in 1776, for instance! Trees of Tennessee is a beautiful and valuable addition for any horticultural collection and a perfect gift for your tree-loving friends. To see a preview of the book go to http://www.tufc.com/book.
Order forms for the book are available here. For pre-orders, please send the order form on the left with your credit card information or a check for $35 per book made out to the Southeast Conifer Society to TUFC Book, c/o Jeff Harvey, 2910 Poplar Hill Road, Watertown TN 37184. Pre-ordered books will be available for pick-up at the meeting in Chattanooga.
If you are unable to make it to the meeting and still would like a copy, you can use the order form on the right or the online order form at http://www.tufc.com/book and the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council will gladly send you a copy for the regular price of $40, which includes shipping and tax.
