Fabulous Private Garden Open for Viewing During Central Region Meeting
Don't miss this year's Central Region Annual Meeting, July 25th/26th in Wadsworth, OH. Among other wonderful stops, it will include an opportunity to tour the garden of Miriam (Mimi) Gale on Friday, July 25th.The tour will start at 1:00 PM and run through 2:30 PM. Meet at the overflow parking lot of The Holden Arboretum, 9550 Sperry Road, Kirtland, Ohio at 12:30 PM and we will car pool 1.5 miles north on Sperry Road to Mimi's Garden where conifers, Japanese maples, European beech, rhododendron and hosta are artfully placed and massed amongst a diverse assortment of trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and ferns. There is a stream, two ponds, a koi pool, a 300-400 year old white oak, stone work, iron work, ornamental bird houses and sculpture, mostly depicting family (as with the grandsons fishing in the photo above). Take your camera but please just take photos of plants and the landscape, and not of Mimi or her house. The good people who help Mimi create and maintain her garden look forward to sharing some of its highlights of what is one of the best private gardens to visit (anywhere)!
