CNR Election Results

Ethan Johnson is the new president of the ACS Central Region. Other officers are Byron Baxter, Vice President; Martha Smith, Secretary; and David Speth, Treasurer. The National Director is Bill Barger.

Results of the special election were announced by Chris Daeger, volunteer election tabulator, on Jan. 22.

One of the first anticipated tasks of the new regime is expected to involve by-law changes reflecting discussions at the beginning of this election effort to accommodate increased reliance on digital communications and less on the postal system.

While 54% of the votes cast were on paper rather than electronic, this represented a cost of more than $10 per vote, plus the respondents’ 46¢ stamps.

The new officers will be formally presented at the Central Region Annual Meeting in Wadsworth, OH, in July.
