I hope my question is not absurd, but I would like to know what I have in my yard; coming from 2 sapling eastern white pines that I planted years ago from Arbor Day handouts. Both look the same, with no bark, but instead have an olive green to gray color "skin", and bright green needles, not the usual dark green. One is 13 feet tall. In nearby forests I have seen many native white pines covered with bold black bark and darker needles. But I have spotted one in a planted landscape about 25 feet tall with the same "skin", although with only few black bark partial strips forming near the stem, but it doesn't cover the trunk all the way around. Might anyone know what my 2 pines are with a different appearance?
