Tsuga chinensis var. oblongisquamata

Tsuga chinensis var. oblongisquamata, first described in 1997 by (W. C. Cheng & L. K. Fu) L. K. Fu & Nan Li, is known as 矩鳞铁杉 (ju lin tie shan) in the Chinese language. It is sometimes treated as a separate species, T. oblongisquamata, but the scientific consensus accepts its similarity to T. chinensis and the varietal assignment.

T. c. var. oblongisquamata differs from the typical variety in the following ways:
