Conifer Trees Database

Welcome to the American Conifer Society Database

Established in 1983, our mission is centered on advocating for the integration of conifer trees in garden designs and landscapes. We are dedicated to educating enthusiasts and the general public about the proper care, cultivation, and conservation of these majestic and diverse evergreens.

Tsuga canadensis ‘Abbott's Fountain’

This small cultivar is open in the center and spreading in habit. It has weeping branches with dark green foliage. Cones and buds are typically small and the bark is usually brown and furrowed. It is presumed to have originated with Frank L. Abbott of Vermont in the 1930s but it's earliest record was a listing by H.J. Hohman of Kingville Nurseries in Maryland about 1970.
