Taxus × media 'Densiformis' is a strongly growing bushy male clone of Hybrid yew with dense undulating branches that allow plants to spread out with age. Bright green foliage is mostly 2-ranked. Young shoots are greenish brown in winter. Pollen cones are produced in abundance. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 3 feet (1 m) tall and 5.5 feet (1.8 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 3 to 5 inches (7.5 - 12. 5 cm). It is reported to have exceptional cold hardiness to USDA Zone 4.

This cultivar has been in the nursery trade since the 1950s. Its first mention is in 1951 the catalog of Hoogendoom Nursery, Middletown, Rhode Island, USA. It is a very popular and widely planted shrub in the U.S.
