Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' / Secrest bald cypress

A flat topped and quite dwarf with small twisted light green leaves. Plants grafted low seem to generally have a bit more mounding habit.

Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' Photo taken in 2002. This is a high graft on a standard. This plant is growing in my garden in Moline, IL. It is approximately 15 years of age when the photo was taken.

Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' (foliage) The foliage of this selection has a bit of a twist to the needles. Along with the horizontal growth habit this foliage adds to the charm of this selection.

Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' (high graft) This plant is six years old in 2003. Notice the flat, pancake like growth habit. This clone is at its best when grafted high on a standard.
