Podocarpus nivalis ‘Pink Tip’

Podocarpus nivalis 'Pink Tip' is a slow-growing upright to spreading selection of alpine totara with loose branching and dark green foliage that flushes pink in spring. After 10 years of growth, a mature plant will measure 24 inches (60 cm) tall and 16 inches (40 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 2 to 3 inches (5 - 7.5 cm). Plants respond well to shearing, which will help tighten up its typical loose structure.

This cultivar likely originated in Australia or New Zealand. Its first known mention is in Stanley and Sons Nursery online catalog.
