Pinus heldreichii 'Indigo Eyes' / Indigo Eyes Bosnian pine

Pinus heldreichii 'Indigo Eyes' is a broadly upright, semi-dwarf selection of Bosnian pine with open branching; shiny, dark-green needles; and a yearly profusion of dark, indigo-Blue young conelets at the branch tips, even at an early age. According to the Iseli Nursery website, ‘Indigo Eyes’ demands attention and deserves greater use in gardens. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 6 feet (2 m) tall and 4.5 feet (1.5 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 6 to 8 inches (15 - 20 cm).

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in the late 1980s at Iseli Nursery, Inc. Boring, Oregon, USA.
