Pinus densiflora x nigra

Pinus densiflora × nigra is the epithet widely used to describe synthetic (cultivated) hybrids of Japanese Red pine (P. densiflora) and Austrian pine (P. nigra). Foliage and buds are intermediate between the two species and this hybrid has resulted in many garden-worthy cultivars, widely available in the international nursery trade.

Pinus × densinigra and Pinus × densi-nigra are also common, although unofficial designations.
