Picea pungens 'C Blue' / C Blue Colorado spruce

Picea pungens 'C Blue' is a dwarf conical selection of Colorado spruce with tight, almost fastigiate branching and brilliant sky-Blue needles. Annual rate of growth is 2 to 3 inches (5 - 7.5 cm) per year which means that after 10 years in the garden or landscape a mature specimen should be about 24 inches (60 cm) tall and half as wide.

This cultivar originated as a witches broom found by Jerry Morris on the Coors estate in Colorado. Jerry didn't want to have a commercial name attached to the plant's name so he shortened it. Despite this decision, the plant is often seen listed under the name, 'Coors' or 'Coors Blue.'
