Picea pungens 'Barabits Blue' is a upright, slow growing selection of Colorado spruce with dense branching and attractive, bright, silvery-blue needles. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 feet (1.5 m) tall and 2.5 feet (75 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 4 to 6 inches (10 - 15 cm).
This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in 1975 by Elemér Barabits of Sopron, Hungary, and introduced to the nursery trade by Elemér's Egzota Nursery. The original specimen still lives in in the Barabits'™ LŠ‘vér Pinetum.
