Picea mariana 'Wellspire' / Black Spruce

Humphrey Welch and Gordon Haddow state in The World Checklist of Cinifers .......... 'A flat, columnar form, foliage as the species. A good accent plant said to be only 3 ft. wide at base when 10 years old.'

Need Wellspire trees. Is there grower in eastern PA or New York who has 5 - 7 ft trees to sell (preferable balled and burlap). I will pick up. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello D. I've never seen this one for sale anywhere. If you want it badly enough, you may need to find a plant somewhere and have it custom-grafted.

The Wellspire spruce is a conifer that is often grown in northeastern PA. It's latin name is Picea mariana 'Wellspire'.

Dave, I would like to know what growers in your area have it and do appreciate your response to this inquiry.

Hello Douglas. As I said above, I've never seen this conifer growing anywhere. None of the growers I know grow it. Sorry.
