Picea glauca (Thomson)

Broad upright plant with thick needles.

1987 - Introduced as a graft from a witches' broom found in Thomson, IL. The original broom was found by Randy Dykstra and Chub Harper. The original broom was a unique hanging broom that occurred as a single at the end of a branch. The broom broke off in 1991 because of a heavy snow load.
