Picea engelmannnii 'Vanderwolf's Blue Pyramid' is a compact, moderately fast-growing selection of Engelmann spruce with dense, more-or-less fastigiate branching, and exceptionally attractive, bright Blue foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 7 feet (2 m) tall and 4 feet (1.2 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 6 to 8 inches (15 - 20 cm).

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in the late 1960s by Pete Vanderwolf, a growing for John Vermeulen & Son Nursery, Neshanic Station, New Jersey, USA.
