Picea engelmannii'Hoodie' is a relatively slow-growing, irregular-upright selection of Engelmann spruce with dense branching and short Blue-green needles. After 10 years, a specimen will be considered mature at a height of 5 feet (1.5 m) tall and 32 inches (80 cm) wide after 10 years in the landscape, suggesting a rate of growth of 4 to 6 inches (10 - 15 cm) per year.
This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in 1991 at Iseli nursery, Boring, Oregon.
