Picea abies ‘Fritsche’

Picea abies

Picea abies 'Fritsche' is a globose selection of Norway spruce with a somewhat flattened top and attractive Blue-green needles, somewhat uncommon for this species. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 16 inches (40 cm) tall and 28 inches (70 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 1 to 2 inches (2.5 - 5 cm).

This cultivar originated as a witch's broom found by well-known broom hunter and conifer enthusiast, Vitek Fritsche of Czech Republic.
