Larix kaempferi ‘Stiff Weeper’

Larix kaempferi

Larix kaempferi 'Stiff Weeper' is a narrow, strictly pendulous selection of Japanese larch with straight, "stiff" branches descending at acute angles from the terminals. Eventual height is determined by how high the plant is staked. Terminal branches will increase at a yearly rate of 12 to 18 inches (30 - 45 cm), suggesting the potential mass of a mature specimen.

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in 2004 by C. Esveld Nursery, Boskoop, The Netherlands.
