Juniperus × pfitzeriana ‘Old Gold’

Juniperus × pfitzeriana

Juniperus × pfitzeriana 'Old Gold' is a very popular, intermediate-sized, spreading selection of Pfitzer juniper with layered branching and attractive bronzy gold foliage that retains good color throughout the winter. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 feet (1.5 m) tall and 8.5 feet (2.5 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 8 to 12 inches (20 - 30 cm), more outward than up.

This cultivar originated in the mid-1950s as a mutation found on a specimen of J. × pfitzeriana 'Pfitzeriana Aurea' at F.J. Grootendorst Nursery, Boskoop, The Netherlands.
