Juniperus × pfitzeriana ‘Hetzii’

Juniperus × pfitzeriana 'Hetzii' is a vigorous, spreading, female selection of hybrid juniper (J. sabina × chinensis) with vase-shaped branches holding prickly gray-blue foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 feet (1.5 m) tall and 6 feet (2 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 6 - 8 inches (15 - 20 cm).

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in 1920 at F.C. Hetz Nursery, Fairview, Pennsylvania, USA. 'Hetzii' is sometimes seen mistakenly listed as a Juniperus virginiana or chinensis.
