Conifer Trees Database

Welcome to the American Conifer Society Database

Established in 1983, our mission is centered on advocating for the integration of conifer trees in garden designs and landscapes. We are dedicated to educating enthusiasts and the general public about the proper care, cultivation, and conservation of these majestic and diverse evergreens.

Ginkgo biloba ‘Clica’

Ginkgo biloba 'Clica' is a distinctive, upright dwarf selection of maidenhair tree with small, ruffled, light-green leaves, adorning a heavily branched, multi-stemmed, slow-growing mound. The resulting effect is a very tidy, refined specimen with eye-commanding texture. A site in full sun to partial shade will produce the most appealing plant. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 3.5 feet (1 m) tall and 4.5 feet (1.5 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 3 to 4 inches (7.5 - 10 cm).

Despite being a fairly new, eminently garden-worthy cultivar, it is currently of unknown origin. 'Clica' is one of eight selections made in 2020 for the popular ACS Collectors' Conifer of the Year program.
