I have three 20-yr old Italian cypress trees growing by my driveway in Shreveport, LA; USA. They have brown limbs and seem dry (even though they get sprinkler water regularly. I need to know how to treat them to get them healthy and to thrive again. Please tell me what to do to take care of them. Thank you, Helen Wood Wood, [email protected],

Hello Helen ... this species has evolved to thrive in a Mediterranean climate (very low humidity and dry summers) ... My suspicion is that Louisiana is much too humid for it to thrive over the long term.

Best results would be for you to lower the ambient humidity around it, and severely limit the amount of irrigation it gets during the summer months.
