Cupressus nootkatensis ‘Viridis’

Cupressus nootkatensis 'Viridis' is a narrowly columnar selection of Nootka cypress with bright green foliage and slightly nodding branch tips. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 6 to 8 feet (2 - 2.5 m) tall and half as wide, an annual growth rate of 8 to 12 inches (20 - 30 cm).

This is an old cultivar of unknown origin that is thought to have originated in The Netherlands in the 1850s. It was first described in 1867 by Jurriaan M. De Vos.
