Cupressus nootkatensis 'Moonshot' / Moonshot Nootka cypress

Cupressus nootkatensis 'Moonshot' is an extremely narrow, large growing, upright weeping selection of Nootka cypress that generally lacks any side branching, only a few subordinate leaders with hanging green branchlets and foliage. After 10 years of growth a mature specimen will measure 6 feet (2 m) tall and 2 feet (60 cm) wide at the base, an annual growth rate of 6 - 8 inches (15 - 20 cm).

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in the early 2000s by Joe Stupka of Pulaski, Pennsylvania.
