Welcome to the American Conifer Society Database

Cupressus nootkatensis ‘Argenteovariegata’

Cupressus nootkatensis 'Argenteovariegata' is a broadly conical tree form of Nootka cypress with dark green foliage, splashed with bright white variegation that is thought to be rather unstable. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 6 feet (2 m) tall and 4 feet (1.3 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 6 to 8 inches (15 - 20 cm).

The origin of this cultivar is unknown having been first described by James Herbert Veitch in 1881. However in 1965, van Ouden & Boom speculated that it may be synonymous with C. nootkatensis 'Variegata.'
