Cryptomeria japonica ‘Yellow Twig’

Cryptomeria japonica 'Yellow Twig' is a slow-growing, upright pyramidal form of Japanese cedar. As it grows fresh branchlets, they appear to be "brushed with yellow," later turning bright green as they mature. Typical rate of growth in most areas is 3.5 inches (9 cm) a year resulting in an irregular pyramidal shrub 35 inches (90 cm) tall and wide after 10 years in the garden.

Little is known of the origin of this cultivar. It appears to be an Iseli Nursery, Boring, Oregon introduction from around 2010.
