Cryptomeria japonica ‘Buckiscope’

Cryptomeria japonica 'Buckiscope' is a vigorous conical plant with medium gray-green foliage. The foliage tips are curved and have the form of small cones, which depending on the season, may be colored brown. Typical rate of growth in most areas is 6 to 10 inches (15 - 25 cm) a year resulting in a small pyramidal specimen, 6 feet (2 m) tall and 3 feet (1 m) wide after 10 years in the garden.

Kas Koemans nursery of Boskoop, The Netherlands is credited with the origin and introduction of this cultivar in the late 1980s. It was found as a branch mutation on a specimen of 'Jindai.' The name 'Buckiscope' is the former name of the city of Boskoop.
