Chamaecyparis thyoides ‘Barton’

Steely blue, dense and thick - a great dwarf conifer for wet areas.

Chamaecyparis thyoides 'Barton' is a upright, dwarf selection of Atlantic white cypress with dense, irregular branching and very attractive steel-blue juvenile foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 3 to 4 feet (1 - 1.3 m) tall and half as wide, an annual growth rate of 3 to 5 inches (7.5 - 10 cm).

This cultivar is well known in gardens and arboretums in southeastern USA where it performs extremely well in the summer heat, humidity and rain. It is unfortunately of unknown origin.
