Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Glauca Nana' / Glauca Nana Sawara cypress

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Glauca Nana' in a irregular-globose dwarf selection of Sawara cypress with attractive, dark, Blue-green foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 12 inches (30 cm) tall and wide, an annual growth rate of around 1 inch (2.5 cm).

The origin of this cultivar is currently unknown, despite being fairly easy to find in many large arboreta and nurseries. Based on the latin cultivar name, it is also likely to have been known in the nursery trade since the 1950s or earlier.
