Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Filifera Argenteovariegata' is a upright growing, broadly conical selection of Sawara cypress with pendulous thread-like foliage copiously variegated with bright, creamy white. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 3 feet (1 m) tall and somewhat less wide, an annual growth rate of 3 to 4 inches (7.5 - 10 cm).
This is an old cultivar that likely originated in Germany in the late 1800s. It was first described by Ludwig Beissner in one of his many publications.
