Conifer Trees Database

Welcome to the American Conifer Society Database

Established in 1983, our mission is centered on advocating for the integration of conifer trees in garden designs and landscapes. We are dedicated to educating enthusiasts and the general public about the proper care, cultivation, and conservation of these majestic and diverse evergreens.

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Vokel's Upright’

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Vokel's Upright' is a narrow, upright, dwarf tree form of Hinoki cypress with dense branching and rich, dark-green foliage. After 10 years, a mature specimen will measure 4 feet (1.3 m) tall and 12 inches (30 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 3 to 5 inches (7.5 - 12.5 cm).

Despite being a fairly well-known cultivar in the nursery trade, this conifer is, unfortunately, of unknown origin at this time.
