Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Sunspray’

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Sunspray' is a very attractive upright, informal pyramidal selection of Hinoki cypress with bright, creamy-golden swirled sprays of foliage. The plant is similar to Ch. obtusa 'Confucious'™ but is somewhat slower growing. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 5 feet (1.6 m) tall and wide, an annual growth rate of 6 inches (15 cm).

This cultivar originated at Duncan & Davies Nursery, New Plymouth, New Zealand who introduced it to the nursery trade in 1992.
