Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Sunspray' / Sunspray Hinoki cypress

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Sunspray' is very attractive upright, informal pyramidal selection of Hinoki cypress with bright, creamy golden swirled sprays of foliage. The plant is similar to Ch. obtusa 'Confucious’ but is somewhat slower growing. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 5 feet (1.6 m) tall and wide, an annual growth rate of 6 inches (15 cm).

This cultivar originated at Duncan & Davies Nursery, New Plymouth, New Zealand who introduced it to the nursery trade in 1992.
