Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Sunny Swirl’

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Sunny Swirl' is a narrow, upright growing selection of Hinoki cypress with stiff contorted branches and twisting thread-like foliage that varies from yellow to gold in color. After 10 years of growth, a specimen can be considered mature at 5 feet (1.4 m) tall and 16 inches wide (40 cm) wide, a rate of growth of 4 to 6 inches (10 - 15 cm) annually.

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected by Iseli Nursery, Boring, Oregon, USA in 1999.
