Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Spirited’

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Spirited' is a upright, broadly pyramidal, selection of Hinoki cypress with dense branching and lacey golden sprays of foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4 feet (1.3 m) tall and 40 inches (1 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 4 to 6 inches.

This cultivar originated as a seedling sourced from C. obtusa 'Crippsii', selected by Rick Crowder of Hawksridge Farms Nursery, Hickory, North Carolina, USA.
