Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Nana Pyramidalis’

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana Pyramidalis' is a miniature, squat-pyramidal selection of Hinoki cypress with very dense branching and small, cup-shaped sprays of dark-green foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure (15 - 25 cm) tall and wide, an annual growth rate of 0.6 to 1 inch (1.5 - 2.5 cm).

This cultivar originated in the mid-1930s, as a seedling sourced from C. obtusa 'Nana Gracilis', by den Ouden Nursery,
Boskoop, The Netherlands.
