Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Lycopodioides Aurea' / golden clubmoss-leaf Hinoki cypress

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Lycopodioides Aurea' is a an upright dwarf selection of Hinoki cypress with irregular branching, and sulfur-yellow, cockscomb foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 feet (1.5 m) tall and 3 feet (1 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 4 to 6 inches (10 - 15 cm).

This cultivar originated long ago in Japan, Robert Fortune imported the first plants to Europe to Standish Nursery, Bagshot, United Kingdom, in 1861.
