Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Koster Fast Form' / Koster Fast Form Hinoki cypress

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Koster Fast Form' is a faster growing selection of C. obtusa 'Kosteri'. Tree form is broadly pyramidal; branching is dense and uniform; and foliage is rich, dark green in color. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 feet (1.5 m) tall and two-thirds as wide, an annual growth rate of 4 to 6 inches.

This cultivar is thought to have originated in the United States under unknown circumstances. Since it's not likely that this selection was made prior to 1959, the commonly seen name 'Kosteri Fast Form' is not allowed. The International Code of Botanical Literature also has issues with using the word "form" in cultivar names.
