Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Gracilis Aurea’

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis Aurea' is a small, upright, tree form of Hinoki cypress, with open branching, and fan-shaped sprays of yellow-green foliage with nodding tips. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 10 feet (3 m) tall and 4 feet (1.3 m) wide, an annual growth rate of around 1 feet (30 cm).

This cultivar originated in the 1860s, and introduced by James Veitch & Sons' Coombewood Nursery, United Kingdom.
