Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gold Drop' / Gold Drop Hinoki cypress

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gold Drop' is a flat-topped, semi-dwarf selection of Hinoki cypress with spreading branches and creamy, yellow-green foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 2 feet (60 cm) tall and 1 feet (30 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 2 to 3 inches (10 - 15 cm).

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in 1982 by Joel W. Spingarn of Baldwin, Long Island, New York.
