Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Bambi’

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Bambi' is a diminutive, cushion-shaped selection of Hinoki cypress with dense branching and very tight, dark green foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure only 3.4 to 4 inches (9- 10 cm) tall and 5 to 6 inches (12 -15 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of less than 1 inch (2.5 cm).

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected by Cecil Franklin, Reading, United Kingdom; and introduced to the nursery trade in the early 1990s by Kenwith Nursery, Bideford, U.K.
