Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Springtime' is a dense, conical, dwarf selection of Lawson cypress with lime-green and yellow juvenile foliage. It bears a resemblance to a slow-growing C. lawsoniana 'Ellwood's Gold.' After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 1.5 feet (45 cm) tall and 12 inches (30 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 1.5 to 2 inches (3 - 5 cm).
This cultivar originated as a slow-growing sport found in the mid 1990s on a specimen of 'Ellwood's Gold' by A.E. Roberts Nursery, Southampton, United Kingdom.
