Conifer Trees Database

Welcome to the American Conifer Society Database

Established in 1983, our mission is centered on advocating for the integration of conifer trees in garden designs and landscapes. We are dedicated to educating enthusiasts and the general public about the proper care, cultivation, and conservation of these majestic and diverse evergreens.

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana ‘Snow White’

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Snow White' is a slow-growing, broadly conical selection of Lawson cypress with juvenile "Elwoodii-type" gray-green foliage and white foliage tips in spring. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will stand 4 feet (1.2 m) tall and 2 feet (60 cm) wide. This is a popular plant for home landscapes that is kept in best shape through regular fertilizing and adequate water.

This cultivar originated as a mutation on Ch. lawsoniana 'Ellwoodii' found in 1983 by R. Murray at Allandale Nursery, Willerby United Kingdom.
