Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Snow Queen' / Snow Queen Lawson cypress

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Snow Queen' is a broadly conical selection of Lawson cypress with soft yellow foliage that turns toward light-Blue as one follows the foliage up the stem to the trunk. At that point, each stem lightly twists, revealing silvery undersides, presenting an almost pastel effect. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 feet (1.5 m) tall and 4 feet (1.2 m) wide, an annual growth rate of 4 to 6 inches (10 - 20 cm).
This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in the mid 1990s at M & J Kristick Nursery, Wellsville, Pennsylvania, USA.
