Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Minima' / minimal Lawson cypress

Chamaeyparis lawsoniana 'Minima' is a dwarf, broadly globose selection of Lawson cypress that lacks a distinct terminal leader. Instead, it grows with many ascending branches of yellowish-green foliage. After 10 years, a mature plant will measure 20 to 28 inches (50 - 70 cm) tall and two-thirds as wide, an annual growth rate of 2 to 3 inches.

This is an old cultivar of unknown origin that has been in the nursery trade since the 1860s.
