Chamaecyparis lawsoniana ‘Broomhill Gold’

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Broomhill Gold' is an erect, broadly columnar selection of Lawson cypress that grows with multiple leaders of fine, soft greenish yellow foliage that is brightest in spring. Unlike many similar cultivars, 'Broomhill Gold' is consistently "clothed to the ground." After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 to 6 feet (1.5 - 2 m) tall, an annual growth rate of 4 to 6 inches (10 - 15 cm).

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in the mid-1970s by Broomhill Nursery, Stewarts, United Kingdom.
