Cedrus deodara 'Nana' / Dwarf Deodar Cedar

Ken Kelly

How does one 'dwarf' or stunt the growth of a Deodar Cedar seedling? I don't have room for another large tree.

You don't . you buy a plant that is naturally dwarf
for example , go to the search other Cedrus deodar search box (above) look around
buy from online source such as Conifer Kingdom or many others

pls advise if the "curly locks" conifer will survive a #5 zone winter?

Maxwell Cohn

this conifer is hardy to USDA Zone 6. I have no idea what you mean by "curly locks conifer."

I LOVE the dwarf, weeping trees! For many years I have purchased balled evergreens for Christmas trees - is there any way to keep a dwarf weeping cedar inside for Christmas and plant after?. I am in Ohio zone 6. Would it need to stay inside until spring? If the ground was prepared ahead of time should it be planted in winter?? Or should I just keep with the Giant balled firs??
