Welcome to the American Conifer Society Database

Abies procera ‘DelBar Cascade’

Abies procera

Abies procera 'DelBar Cascade' is a vigorous, strongly growing, upright tree form of Noble fir with a sinuous central leader, strictly pendulous branching and long, rich, greenish Blue foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 7 feet (2 m) tall and 2 feet (60 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 8 to 12 inches (20 - 30 cm).

This cultivar originated as a mature seedling found in the 1980s growing in a Christmas tree farm near Silverton, Oregon by Delbert and Barbara Hupp (DelBar) of Drakes Crossing Nursery, in Silverton. This conifer is sometimes seen listed as 'DelBar's Cascade.' We accept this designation based on it appearing this way on the Hupp nursery website.
