Abies hickelii var. hickelii

Abies hickelii var. hickelii is the typical variety of of A. Hickelii. It is found in Mexico - the states of Chiapas, Guerrero and Oaxaca. The seed-cones are 2.4 to 3.2 inches (6 - 8 cm) long by 1 to 1.4 inches (2.5 - 3.5 cm) wide, purple when young, maturing to dark brown and with exserted bracts.
