Abies firma 'Halgren' is an moderately slow growing, upright, narrowly pyramidal selection of Momi fir with dense, compact branching and long, dark-green needles. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 6 feet (2 m) tall and 32 inches (80 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 6 to 8 inches (15 - 20 cm).
This cultivar originated as a seedling selected for exceptionally dense growth, and dark needles. Buchholz & Buchholz Nursery of Gaston, Oregon was one of the first nurseries to list and describe this conifer around 2009, but it is not known if they are responsible for its introduction.
